  • What is the annual membership fee?
    The membership fee is broken down as follows: - active member under 18 years: 10€ per year - active member over 18 years: 20€ per year - supporting member: 15€ per year - during musical training: 15€ per month (membership fee already included)
  • Where are you performing?
    We appear at various events, including rifle and music festivals, carnival parades, as a "serenade" at birthdays, weddings and city festivals and of course at many other events.
  • Are there any activities besides music?
    YES - we're not all about the music! For example, we organize our own carnival party, trips to the amusement park, go canoeing together, go camping or adventure golf together and of course we also have a Christmas party at the end of the year. And hey - we are always open to new ideas and suggestions.
  • Do I need my own instrument?
    No, if you don't have your own instrument, we will provide you with one free of charge.
  • Can I also book you for private events/as a private individual?
    Of course! We also perform for you at e.g. birthdays, weddings or anniversaries. Just ask us at kontakt@musikverein-wiesental.de.
  • Do I have to attend every rehearsal?
    No, all rehearsals are voluntary! However, regular participation is desirable and useful in order to always be up to date and not to lose touch.
  • Do I have to become a member immediately?
    No, we offer you a "trial period" of 3 months in which we can get to know each other and get to know each other. This way we can be sure on both sides that the chemistry between us is all right.
  • Do I have to be able to read sheet music?
    No. Previous musical knowledge is certainly an advantage, but not a basic requirement. You will learn notes and rhythm with us.
  • From what age can I play?
    Our experience has shown that the best age to join is from the age of 8, as the instruments have a certain weight. Of course there are no upper limits.
  • Who is responsible for the musical training?
    Our qualified (graduated) trainers take over the technical training. Our team of instructors consists of a percussion instructor, an instructor for the wind instruments or the entire ensemble and an instructor specifically for the young wind players.
  • Who looks after the children/minors during performances/excursions/etc. on?
    Our youth leader & youth spokesperson is primarily responsible for our young musicians. Of course, all other members of the association also act as supervisors.
  • When & where do the rehearsals take place?
    Full rehearsal: Thursdays 7:30-9:30 p.m. Percussion: Thursdays 19:00-19:30 Young wind players: (to be determined for 2022) Young Percussion: Thursdays 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. All of our rehearsals take place in the sports hall of the St. Martin primary school, Schulstraße 8, 49170 Hagen a.T.W. instead.
  • How do I find the right instrument?
    We will help you to find the right instrument for you - you can try out all the instruments of your choice at the beginning. If you find out after a while that you want to play a different instrument, you can switch at any time.
